Christmas decoration- Goldwork has been taken to the next level with this contemporary design. This Christmas decoration demonstrates how you can mix traditional techniques with contemporary embroidery to create a delightful piece which is varied in texture and colour.
This design is created with gold and silver purls, pearl purl, embroidery thread and glass beads and sequins. The techniques of couching, chipping and loop stitch will be covered in the instructions to create this design.
The leaves are stitched with embroidery thread to highlight the details.
You will create the flower to define the centre with loop stitch in purls. Finally, you will highlight the design with seed beads and make the embroidery as a Christmas decoration.
This kit is aimed at someone who has knowledge of embroidery but would like to improve their skills to get to the next level.

Each kit includes: detailed instructions, yellow guterman thread, invisible thread, green embroidery thread, gilt passing, gilt pearl purl, gilt smooth purl, gilt bright check purl, silver plated smooth purl, glass beads, sequins, beeswax, different sized needles, white parkin, white satin fabric with design printed on and bondaweb.
You will also need: embroidery scissors, sharp small scissors (to cut the purl), an embroidery hoop 6 or 8” or a frame, pins, goldwork mat, iron and ironing board to make the design into a decoration.
Also a pair of goldwork scissors to cut the purl is recommended but this is optional.
