Summary
Christmas decoration – In this class, you will learn how to make this exquisite Christmas decorations. You will embroider with gold and silver purls, pearl purl, embroidery thread and glass beads and sequins. The techniques of couching, chipping and loop stitch will be covered to create this design.
We will begin by introducing the pearl purl to create a finished edge. Stitch the leaves with embroidery thread to highlight the details. The chipping will be initiate on the bigger area to create a different texture.
We will create the flower to define the centre with loop stitch in purls. Finally we will highlight the design with seed beads. We will also make the embroidery as a Christmas decorations.
This class is aimed at someone who has knowledge of embroidery but would like to learn how to create this beautiful christmas decoration.
Included as part of the class is a complete kit with detailed instructions, green embroidery thread, gold passing, gold pearl purl, gold rough purl, gold bright check purl, silver smooth purl, glass beads, sequins, beeswax, different size needles, calico (backing fabric), white satin duchess with design printed on and bondoweb.
The class will allow you to develop at your own pace, with the opportunity for one to one guidance from the tutor due to the limited class numbers.
You will need the additional equipment:
– a seated hoop 8 or 10 inch (with webbing around the top ring)
– white guterman polyester thread
– light yellow guterman polyester thread
– cardboard
– two pairs of embroidery scissors (one to cut metal and one very sharp to cut the purl)
– pins
– pencil and rubber
– notepad
– goldwork pad
– iron and ironing board (to use for the making of the decoration)
Recommended but Optional:
– goldwork scissors
A link to access the class will be send to you two weeks before the course start with instructions on how to access your course. You will need to download zoom and enter the details that you will receive.
The class can be recorded if all the participants (8 students per class maximum) agreed and it will be available to watch as many time as you like for 6 months.
