Mr Rudolph – In this class, you will learn the art of surface stitch and Goldwork. This design was inspired by a beautiful red deer than I saw in Scotland this summer.
You will embroider with embroidery thread the outlines of the design in stem stitch. You will incorporate the split stitch on the outlines of the satin stitches. The satin stitch, straight and in an angle will be covered including how to keep the same angle and where to position your needle and at which angle.
You will add the festive bow including learning how to do a french knot. Finally, we will practise stitching the essing with gold smooth purl.
This class is for someone who has knowledge of embroidery but not necessary goldwork and would like to work in a contemporary design.
Included as part of the class is a complete kit with detailed instructions, brown embroidery thread, red embroidery thread, gold smooth purl, beeswax, different sized needles, white single duchess satin fabric with the artwork already drawn on and yellow Gutermann bobbin thread.
The class will allow you to develop at your own pace, with the opportunity for one to one guidance from the tutor due to the limited class numbers.
You will need the additional equipment:
– a seated hoop 8 or 10 inch (with webbing around the top ring)
– an embroidery scissors
– pencil and rubber
Recommended but Optional:
