Suitable for the beginner with no prior knowledge of the technique, this kit introduces you to the art of Goldwork including passing, stitching the pearl purl and essing.

Goldwork is usually seen in the military and the ecclesiastical gown. The badges and banners are usually embroidered with intricate goldwork. I personally like to use it with other techniques or within a contemporary design. This design uses goldwork to create intricate shapes and uses different types of gold thread and stitching techniques to create multiple textures.

Each kit includes: detailed instructions, gold passing, gold pearl purl, gold smooth and rough purl, beeswax, different size needles, callico (backing fabric), black duchess satin fabric and yellow Gutermann thread.

Finishied piece size is approximately 8cm (H) x 11cm (W).

You will also need: embroidery scissors, sharp small scissors (to cut the purl), an embroidery hoops or a frame and pins.
